Cross Ash School are one step away from being awarded an 'eco-school' status following their recent Green Flag 3 achievement given by Bryony Bromley on behalf of Eco Schools Wales.

She said: "The school's Eco Committee were fantastic and very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about what they were working on and trying to achieve. Having a committee and a club to manage the programme is an excellent way of getting the tasks done effectively and you have already linked in well to curriculum activities, like the Dig for Victory."

The next award in two years time, will be Platinum provided the school has covered all eight Eco-Schools topics and can show the impact that they have made in each of these areas.

The school recently held a cycle festival with more than 60 participants from Cross Ash and other schools in Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Powys.

The school is holding an open day on Tuesday 30th June between 1pm and 3pm if you want to have a look around. There will be a number of musical performances and the opportunity to see learning in action.
