MONMOUTH MP David Davies is urging constituents to nominate community-minded young people for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Award.
Now in its 11th year, the prestigious annual award scheme is open to anyone aged 25 or under and celebrates the achievements of young people in one of four categories: first aid, volunteering, community action and
fundraising.
Nominations are open until 2nd August and can be completed online at http://www.redcross.org.uk/theaward">www.redcross.org.uk/theaward. The awards ceremony will be held at the House of Commons on Tuesday 24th November, with all nominees receiving a certificate celebrating their nomination.
Mr Davies said: "The Humanitarian Citizen Award is a fantastic opportunity to discover inspirational young people in the constituency whose selfless actions go unsung.
"Young people often get bad press but it's important to reward their contributions and achievements.
"If you know of a young person or group who you feel has made a real difference in the local community and should be recognised, I would encourage you to nominate them."
