The Labour candidate suggested in last week’s Monmouthshire Beacon that not living in the constituency could be an advantage because “she would not show bias to any particular area”.

I have lived in the town of Monmouth for over 20 years but I have never shown bias to any particular part of the constituency in my role as MP. If I am re-elected, I would continue to treat all parts of the constituency with equal importance. I am sure the comment was not meant as a criticism but I thought I should put this on record.
