Monmouth Town Council has a new Town Clerk, Dr John Evans.

Dr Evans, who lives in Rhymney and used to run Ebbw Vale adult education centre, takes the place of Sarah Robson.

Dr Evans is no newcomer to the functions of a Town Clerk, having occupied the post in Tredegar for the previous ten years. He was selected in mid December, and will formally take up his post on the 4th of January.
