Mark Walton and Jane Duke from Bridges Community Centre were delighted to receive a cheque for £1,000 at a Charity Presentation Evening at the Newport Masonic Hall on Friday November 20th.
This award was sponsored by the Loyal Monmouth Lodge and will be used to purchase new chairs for the Kymin Lounge at the Centre.
These chairs are used on three days a week by COMIC, our day group for older citizens, and also by other groups in the community, including Gwent Association for the Blind and the Breast Cancer Support Group.
The new bright and comfortable chairs will make a big difference to all our users and we are extremely grateful to all at the Masons, but particularly Mr Derek Hockey, the charity steward of Loyal Monmouth Lodge, for making this award possible.
