PROPOSALS to build a new care home at the junction of Chartist Rise and Cornpoppy Avenue in Monmouth are going out for public consultation. The application has been submitted by Hallmark Healthcare who are applying to build a 60 bed residential care home, providing facilities and accommodation for the frail, elderly and residents with dementia. The accommodation is primarily on three floors, with the second floor located within the roof space. Vehicle access to the site will be from Chartist Rise. and space has been allocated for 15 cars. The plans also include an on-site cinema, hairdresser and beauty salon, and therapy room. Copies of the plans can be seen at Monmouth's One Stop Shop and at also the Planning Section, Monmouthshire County Council.
