A NEW centre for the arts is opening its studio doors for the first time over the weekend of 4th and 5th March.

The brainchild of sculptor Christine Baxter and artist Alex Brown, Court Robert Arts, in Tregare just outside Raglan, is the follow up to the highly successful Wyndcliffe Court Sculpture Gardens which the couple ran until September last year.

This first event will be free to attend and gives the opportunity for visitors to view new work from Christine and Alex alongside work from many of the most innovative garden sculptors in the UK.

This will include Willa Ashworth, Sarah D’Arcy, Gwyn Melvin-Evans, Tony Ford, Anna French, Daren Greenhow, Renee Kilburn and Ann Windsor.

There will also be live sculpture demonstrations from Christine Baxter as well as painting demonstrations  from Alex Brown.

All the work on show will be available to purchase and take away on the day.

From spring onwards there are also plans to run sculpture, mould-making  and painting courses from the centre.

Christine Baxter said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome visitors to our first open studios at Court Robert.

“Over the last few months we have been setting up our studios and I have thoroughly enjoyed being back sculpting a range of new work and completing commissions.

“We are also delighted to be continuing our relationship with many of the sculptors that we worked with at Wyndcliffe Court Sculpture Gardens.”

Over the weekend there will be childrens activities and refreshments available all day.

Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
