RAGLAN Community Council are to approach local Countryside Warden Mark Langley after hearing about the deplorable state of Nanny's Lane.
Cllr Fred Wyer told the Council's February meeting that he had received numerous complaints about the lane which had been virtually washed away.
"You can neither walk, ride or drive along it now," he said. The lane was popular with riders and with walkers because of profusion of wild flowers but the deep ruts presented a danger.
The Chairman, Cllr Mrs Marjorie Chilcott, said that a number of years ago a survey had been made of people who remembered walking through the lane. Forms had been presented to the County Council with a request that the lane be recognised as a bridle way.
"It should be kept open - it's been recognised as a bridle path," said Cllr Noel Porter.
