A JOURNEY into the magical world of Narnia comes with a couple of firsts for Chepstow-based ChAOS Music and Drama.

For three of the four young actors playing the children at the heart of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, it will be a new experience to play a lead character.

The production at The Drill Hall in Chepstow will also be accompanied by live music for the first time in 20 years.

Stepping up to principal roles are Angela Power as Edmund, Anwen Pugh as Lucy and Corey Price as Peter.

Amanda Osmond, who is director along with Natasha Kus, said: “It’s our first show in 20 years that we have a live band and everyone is very excited about that.

“Three of the four lead children are in their first principal roles with ChAOS.

“The audience may recognise Tayla (Susan) as the principal girl in Dick Whittington (January 2025).

“They have all worked tremendously hard to find their character, remember their lines and stage directions over the last 16 weeks. “Our supporting cast are incredible with the multiple characters and costume changes throughout the show.

“Even our stage crew have had to don a costume to fill gaps!

“All testament to the passion for theatre that we all have.”

The Lion is played by Mark Bonner and Isla Richards is The Witch.

The band is made up of Dave Thompson on piano, Ben Ricketts on keyboard and guitar, bassist Paul Hilman and Mike Sunderland on drums and percussion.

Ms Osmond added: “ We have been supported by many people in Chepstow and the Town Council to bring the show to the stage.”

There are performances this Friday and Saturday (June 13-14) at 7.30pm and Saturday and Sunday (June 14) at 2.30pm.
