Gwent Police and its partner agencies continue to work together to alleviate the disruption posed by excess rain over the past week.
A multi-agency response has been put in place involving Gwent Police, Monmouthshire County Council, other emergency services, the Environment Agency, Western Power and the National Public Heath Service for Wales offering specialist expertise in their respective areas.
The Group's priority is the protection of life and property.
The most at risk area has been identified as the properties on the eastern bank of the River Wye at Wye Bridge in Monmouth.
The Environment Agency is monitoring the water level of the River Wye and residents were made aware that evacuation was necessary. "Residents are cooperating fully with us and arrangements are in place to temporarily accommodate them" a spokesamn said.
There may be interruption to some power supplies if the river exceeds predicted levels. We are working with Western Power to minimise this impact.
