YOUNGSTERS at Monmouth Comprehensive School's boxing club have been put through their paces by the town's MP David Davies.

Mr Davies, who is president of the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association, paid a visit to the club last Wednesday afternoon (21st September) to take part in a coaching session.

The club trainer is Tony Farr, who also runs Monmouth Tae Kwon-Do.

Mr Davies, a keen sportsman who has fought in several charity boxing matches as 'The Tory Tornado', said: "It was a pleasure to be supporting Tony.

"The boxing is done in a very safe environment and the emphasis is on learning the sport and keeping fit without getting hurt.

"I am hoping to be able to drop in occasionally to let the lads take a bit of target practice in my direction."
