Peter Short asks whose views David Davies represents (Whose views does David Davies represent? 26th October). Mine, for one.

I believe that David Davies takes a realistic approach, with his main priority being his constituents and British society as a whole. How does it help genuine child refugees if we allow adults into this country who may well have no legal right to be here?

We are a small country, very much smaller than France where these refugees currently are, with our services such as education and health stretched too far already. 

Please, don’t mistake realism for hard-heartedness.
