SIR,
I always loved Show Day, it was the start of the Bank Holiday weekend.
My parents owned a shop in Monmouth; I also run a business in the town. It was the start of a busy weekend.
People came into the town, many the same every year, meeting old friends. The town was busy for everyone.
Suddenly it was decided to move the showground out of town.
No thought was given to Monmouth's businesses and how they may suffer.
Now on show day Monmouth is like a ghost town. Well done Show Committee.
