A MONMOUTHSHIRE garden centre was featured on nationwide television to discuss the impacts of the recent heatwave.

Morris’ of Usk featured on Good Morning Britain on July 28. Television Presenter Jonathon Swaine interviewed Tom and Kate Morris to discuss the effect the hot climate had on the garden centre. Also featured on breakfast news was Helen who shared her views the increase in warmer climate had on the garden centre.

This was in relation to the Heat Health Alerts. Yellow alerts were issued in the West Midlands, South West, Yorkshire and The Humber.

Ensuring the garden centre was looked after in the warm climate staff members have been coming in early and next year they are going to install flood benches to keep the plants watered whilst saving water and resources and next year they are going to put in a thermal screening to shade the plants.

Morris’ of Usk is a family run business which features a garden centre, a two-acre plant nursery, a farm shop and a café.
