SIR,

Mr R.W Bradley's suggestion that the over-development of Monmouth is partly due to Owain Glyndr's uprising against the English in the early 15th century puts a new slant on Anglo-Welsh history.

Could it be that Mr Bradley's inexorable assault on his fellow countrymen is inspired by his residency at Wyesham – just an arrow shot from freedom and the Welsh border?

Stephen Clarke
