SIR,
I have been following with some interest over the past few years what has been going on around Ancre Hill, I regularly walk my dog around that beautiful area.
A huge industrial unit has been passed for development, a large tin double garage built, now a new house on the side of the lane has been proposed and the temporary road junction near the bend on the Rockfield road at the bottom of the hill seems permanent to me.
This surely must stop as no-one knows where it will end, it seems to me to be the thin end of the wedge.
If you would like to see what is going on please look at the Planning Portal on the county council website.
There are already a lot of very good holiday cottages and hotels in and around Monmouth, and I ask the question do we require more?
Interesting reading and I fully expect the county council to ignore the views of the local town council and people again as usual. I read somewhere about letting apathy get in the way of doing nothing, before long it will be too late.
