Monmouthshire got into the spirit of Children in Need last Friday, with schools, nurseries and workplaces around the county dressing up and having fun for the cause.

Members of Monmouthshire Youth Service dressed as Batman and Superwoman (above) came to the rescue of council leader Peter Fox after a Youtube video seemed to show him kidnapped and locked up in Monmouth's Shire Hall. The superheroes collected donations from around the town in a bid to free the councillor and raised more than £90.

The girls at the Beacon office also joined in the fun, dressing up in bright clothes and Pudsey ears.
