WHETHER you’re walking to school, using a mobility scooter to get into town, cycling to work, or simply enjoying local routes in your community, Monmouthshire County Council want to hear from you.

There is still time to take part in the Active Travel Network consultation, which will help shape future walking, wheeling and cycling routes across Monmouthshire.

Residents can share their views until Sunday August 30.

The consultation asks whether the existing and proposed future routes on the ATNM work for you, and where there may be missing links or barriers that make everyday journeys more difficult .

Your feedback will help inform future plans and investment in routes across communities, including Abergavenny, Caldicot, Chepstow, Gilwern, Magor, with Undy, Monmouth and Usk.

As part of the consultation, residents can meet council officers at a number of drop-in sessions to find out more, ask questions and share their ideas.

An opportunity to share your views can be done, here:

Monmouth Library, Friday August 12pm to 4pm

Caldicot Library, Monday August 24, 9.30pm to 12.30pm.

Chepstow Library, Monday August 24, 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

If you are unable to join an in-person session, online sessions are available on Monday August 24 from 11am to 12pm or 7pm to 8pm. You can register for the online sessions via the Let’s Talk Page.

Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Housing and Tourism, with responsibility for Active and Inclusive Travel, Cllr Sara Burch, said: “The best way to understand how people move around our communities is to hear directly from the people who use them every day.

“Whether you walk, wheel or cycle regularly, occasionally, or would like to do so more often, your views matter. We want to understand what helps you make local journeys and what gets in the way.

“This is your opportunity to tell us about the routes you use, the improvements you’d like to see, and the changes that could make travelling around Monmouthshire easier, safer and more accessible for everyone.”

Residents can take part in the consultation, explore the interactive map and submit feedback online via the Let’s Talk Monmouthshire website.
