MONMOUTHSHIRE MP Catherine Fookes has launched a new campaign to tackle poor mobile phones and broadband coverage across the county.

Having lived in rural Monmouthshire for over 25 years and regularly travelling across the constituency, Catherine says she hears from resident's time and again about the frustrations caused by unreliable signals.

To kick off the campaign, Catherine has launched a public survey to gather evidence from residents about coverage blackspots and the impact poor connectivity has on daily life.

The findings will be used to put pressure on big tech companies and providers while also working with the UK Government to call for investment in better infrastructure.

Catherine Fookes MP said: “In 2025, phone signal and broadband is a necessity, yet too many families, farmers and businesses in Monmouthshire are left without a reliable connection.

“I want to hear directly from residents about where the problems are worse, and how poor signal affects your day-to-day lives. By collecting this evidence, I can hold providers to account and push for the investment our communities desperately need.

“Please take a couple of minutes to complete my survey, together we say goodbye to rubbish phone signals and re-connect Monmouthshire.

The survey is open until December 2 2025 and can be accessed at:

Residents who are unable to access the online survey due to poor connectivity can also write to Catherine at House of Parliament, St Margaret St, London SW1A 0AA by post to share their experience.
