THE Whole Earth Thai Bistro in Monmouth will be closing its doors after serving the community since 2004.

The owner of the bistro, Prae, said Saturday July 25 will be the last day the business will be open as she starts her retirement, following serving the community for 22 years and becoming a long standing business in the community.

The Beacon spoke to Prae about her journey and love she has for working in her business and bringing Thai food to the community.

“I am sad, but it is time,” said Prae.

After moving to the area the owner said she wanted to start up a business where she could pursue what she enjoys which is being with people and follow her love for hospitality.

With a want for Thai food, Prae delivered this cuisine to Monmouth. Establishing overtime one of her most popular dishes, Thai curry, which shortly became one of the favourites.

“We have loved being part of the Monmouth community and serving delicious food to our customers and friends,” said Prae.

The business established a close relationship with Monmouth residents who have shared their appreciation and kindness towards the bistro.

A customer, Chris Edwards said: “We are very pleased with the food and the very warm reception. We will miss Prae, the shop and the restaurant.”

Another regular customer Ian Lydford said: “We’ve been coming here for at least 18 years. We’ve had three family celebrations here and we’ve been here for birthdays, meeting new friends here and it’s just the most beautiful place to eat in Monmouth.”

This marks the end of a chapter but highlights a positive reflection this business has had on the Monmouth community.

They signed off on their Facebook post by thanking the community for their kindness and support over the years.
