The 2013 Monmouthshire Show chairman, Chris Ball, was welcomed into the chair by outgoing chairman Lyndon Edwards at the 2013 Monmouthshire Show Society AGM held on Monday 8th April at the Rowing Club, Monmouth.

Ashley Jones, Abergavenny NFU agent, was elected as the 2013 show president.

In his chairman's report, Lyndon said: "Only when you sit as chairman of the society do you realise just how much time the management committee dedicate to produce the Monmouthshire Show held on the last Thursday in August."

He thanked the committee of volunteers and especially Anna Williams, the show's management secretary, who helped and guided him through his term in office.

Anna is looking forward to her third Monmouthshire Show with Chris Ball at the helm.

Chris, a farmer from Upper Cwm Farm, Llantillio Crossenny, said he was honoured to take on the role of chairman.

He reiterated Lyndon's comments and felt the committee worked well together to hold the annual Monmouthshire Show and was delighted to take a lead role within the organisation.

Chris welcomed Sian Watson, from Goodrich, as his vice-chairman.

Preparations are well underway for the 2013 show, taking place on Thursday 29th August.

The show is dependent upon volunteers who assist with its preparation.
