A single mum's adventures on Facebook have become a hit on Amazon.
Turning her experiences into a novel, Naomi Rettig was delighted to see her book reach a number three position and attract praise from reviewers.
Described as 'Bridget Jones for the social media age', Naomi's novel is entitled Five Years on Facebook and is largely based on her own experiences.
Naomi, from Monmouth, said: "Natalie is by far the main character with her daughter Eve there too.
"They are based on myself and my daughter and everything in the book actually happened apart from the ending.
"I changed the names of the characters but anyone who knows me knows that Natalie is actually me. So not a lot of research was needed, just a good memory."
The novel tells the story of Natalie, who is a divorcee, eternally single, and mum to 16-year-old Eve.
It begins at Christmas 2008, when Natalie is dumped and her single and celibate life starts.
Over five years we share, via her Facebook statuses, the ups (taking part in 'This Morning's soap quiz, soap awards parties, being signed by Ugly Models) the downs (family bereavements, never finding her soul mate and having to announce her weight live on TV on 'The Alan Titchmarsh Show') and the random in-between statuses in her light-hearted quirky manner as she tries to stay positive at all times while pushing herself out of her comfort zone.
Will she emerge from her comfort zone triumphant or find herself quivering back in her emotional cave?
Working mum Naomi splits her time between Open University studies and working in Waitrose.
Despite this hectic schedule, the author still finds time to work on her passion.
"In the evenings, usually, I've been known to be up writing until 2am. I tend to get creative after midnight, hence the dark circles under the eyes."
Writing a semi-autobiographical novel may have found admirers in other parts of the world, but it had a frostier reception closer to home.
"My mum and my daughter aren't impressed that I've put my life out there for the world to see but I've had lovely responses from friends and other family members and my first five-star review on Amazon was from a stranger in America, which was very lovely.
"Obviously different genres appeal to different people and I would describe this book as light fluffy chick lit, a book you can easily dip in and out of, although one friend said she read it in two sittings as she couldn't put it down."
Naomi's book is available in both paperback and Kindle formats. Search on Amazon for Naomi Rettig.
