A bistro and B&B in Monmouth has stepped forward to support residents who lost their homes and businesses after Storm Claudia left them vulnerable and devastated.

Creates in Monmouth have set up a GoFund me page trying to raise £5,000 and offering temporary accommodation to those in need, in their B&B.

Kenny John and Ben Price, owners of Creates were determined to help residents after seeing the scale of damage across the community, including providing rooms for those when and where they can to help people navigate their way through the aftermath.

“We have set up the GoFund me page to make sure we can get that money to the most vulnerable people, trying to make sure people have got transport for work, especially if their work place was at home as well and their home has been flooded.

“Also making sure the most vulnerable get that money and they can use it in the best possible way.

“We have set up a another page to encourage people to come to us to see if we have any rooms available for them to stay in. We are also liaising with their insurance brokers, some people have a flood damage cover but some people don’t and if they don’t have that we are heavily subsidising to make sure people have a safe place to go.

The efforts of Monmouth continue to rise. Monmouth community has an everlasting string of hope, the market town is slowly finding there way back after this disastrous event.
