LOCAL residents who participate in Gardeners at Home, a U3A group have made Christmas wreaths to raise money for a community centre who were affected by Storm Claudia.
The group and with Sian Newbert’s assistance managed to raise £75 for Bridges Community Centre.
Penallt resident, Jill Bourchier is the convener for the group, and she wanted to form a gardening group which is informal and fun where residents in the community can talk about a mutual interest.
The club allows people in the village to come together, get to know each other, and chat over gardening techniques.
Bridges Community Centre were one of many who were impacted but with the help of volunteers they are making progress.
