MONMOUTH'S Assembly Member Nick Ramsay was released without charge after his arrest last week.
Last Wednesday evening (1st January) Mr Ramsay, 44, was arrested at his home in Raglan following a ‘disturbance’.
Following his arrest he was suspended by the Welsh Conservatives, pending an independent investigation.
In a statement on Friday Gwent Police said: “We received a report of a disturbance at an address in Chepstow Road, Raglan on Wednesday 1st January at around 8.05pm.
“A 44-year-old man from the Raglan area was arrested following an incident but he has been released with no further action following investigation.”
Mr Ramsay, who is the Shadow Finance Minister and chairs the assembly’s Public Accounts Committee, was first elected as an AM in 2007.
Following his release a Welsh Conservatives spokesperson confirmed Mr Ramsay’s suspension from the party would be reviewed.
“As no further action has been brought, Nick’s suspension will now be reviewed and the outcome reported in due course,” they said.
