MATHERN Day Nursery celebrates 37 years, with plenty of excitement, laughter and celebration as staff and children marked this special occasion.

The celebration was planned by nursery owner Mandy Gore. The day was filled with activities designed to delight and inspire, with something for everyone. The day was celebrated by many who came together for this special day and to enjoy 37 years of the nursery being open.

Children were able to free flow around the nursery site and loved going between the gross motor activites such as bouncing with joy on the bouncy castle and running around exploring the open play field and soft play.

The more creative, fine motor skill activities included party hat decorating, cake decorating and even birthday cake themed play dough.

Fun was enjoyed all throughout the day as surprises included a visit from Baby Shark during a party lunch, an edible “ice cream” tuff tray and a visit from some famous parrots who also stopped by to say hello and enjoy some gentle strokes and cuddles.

The highlight of the day was a special visit from the police who gave children an opportunity to try on uniform, explore the police car and even helped put up police signs, leading to lots of excitement and lots of role play.

The fun didn't stop there as classic party games were explored, including: pass the parcel, a treasure hunt and musical statues, as well as a bubble machine and brightly coloured balloons which sparked joy amongst the children and nostalgic staff alike.

To finish the celebration a personalised Mathern Day birthday cake and featured the nursery’s new logo to officially celebrate 37 years at the nursery.
