A STALL is being held at Monmouth Show Ground car boot to raise proceedings towards an MPS charity.
The stall is being held on Saturday May 16 by Megan Rennoldson who suffers with Alpha Mannosidosis and Debra Mathews to raise even money funding towards this life changing charity.
They are going to do a Tombola stall for adults and children and a general sale of items.
Last year a coffee morning and tabletop sale was hosted at Tŷ Price St Thomas’ Community Hall in aid of the M.P.S society on May 17.
The event raised £380 after the event which lasted just two hours. A group of friends raised funds for Megan as well as helping to raise awareness of MPS.
They helped raise funds for Megan’s continuation of a weekly infusion which she needs to keep her well and the on-going support by the M.P.S nursing team and organisation.
The M.P.S society have helped Megan navigate this journey, not only with her medical needs but also helping broaden her life experiences. The society took her on a trip to Australia where she was able to hold a koala bear and fed a baby kangaroo. Megan shared her story to 500 scientists in Spain who helped make an enzyme for her and others who also suffer with the same illness.
The MPS society are the only registered charity providing professional support to individuals and families affected by MPS, Fabry and related lysosomal conditions in the UK.
The charity has continued funding for research into MPS, Fabry and related diseases since its inception in 1982.
To this day the MPS society have spent around £6 million on research projects into these conditions and to find better treatments and care.
The more research which is carried out the more they can help those who suffer with these illnesses.
