Mark Williamson (49), from Monmouth, has just returned from Washington DC where he was one of the record number of 34,000 entrants in this year's Marine Corps Marathon.

Finishing in a time of just over 3hrs 43mins Mark was pleased with his performance but even more pleased with progress on his fundraising  Macmillan Cancer Support.

He is trying to complete all top 10 of the world's marathons by the end of 2009 and in the process raise money for this very worthwhile charity. All the events are self funded so every penny raised goes to the charity.
