A 51-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed last Thursday evening (29th August).
Police were called to Cornwallis Way, Monmouth at 8.15pm and the man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital with a puncture wound to his stomach.
A 56-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
He will appear in crown court on 20th September to present a plea.
