IR,
I am writing on behalf of local lorry drivers who are not happy with parking arrangements for Lorries.
Having nowhere to park if there tacos run out they have to stop they have to park up. Personally I don't know why the council just can't use the big car park at the bottom of town as a car park / lorry park in the evenings they wouldn't do any harm. I'm sure lorry drivers wouldn't mind paying a contribution to using the facilities they would be using local shops for food etc.
They help local business's by bringing local produce in. By using the local car park it will prevent boy racers hanging around speeding around it and youths congregating around the car park drinking and chucking rubbish around.
Also people who come into town to use local restaurants may feel more at ease at using the car park as boy racers can be intimidating some people may see them as a threat with there silly driving.
As this a main route between here and the west Midlands I think it would be appropriate. There are lorry parks in cinderford and other parts of the country and they have done no harm.
Where the car park is now was the cattle market and lorry park so why take it away it didn't do any harm. Please help me in my fight to help the lorry drivers I will not be letting this subject lie. I would appreciate any help thank you.
