Sir,
Opposition by the Town Council to the LDP with its impinging on the quality of life in Monmouth has met with the deaf ears of the council officers.
Little wonder when you consider how opposition to the cattle market moving to Raglan and the new recycling scheme also is dismissed out of hand. I can imagine how an interview for a job in the council would be:
Interviewer: "Good morning Mr Soap, or may I call you Joe. Please take a seat. Now I cannot stress enough the importance of our relationship with the public. I do see from your profile that you do not, how shall I put it, take criticism of your work very well. What have you to say to that?"
Joe: "Yes well that is not strictly true. I will take criticism and suggestions from my colleagues and managers but from outsiders I will not tolerate". Interviewer: "Excellent Joe, when can you start".
Peter Morgan
(Monmouth)
