SIR,
Hamish Sandison has made much of his working with Jack Jones.
It is now a known fact that Jack Jones was working closely with, and in the pay of, the KGB for 45 years. As head of the TGWU, he had the ability to call his two million members out on strike and bring the country to a halt. His power over prime ministers Jim Callaghan and Harold Wilson is a matter of record.
He was using the unions to undermine our economy and thereby attempting to set up a Communist regime in the UK. Luckily for the UK, after the winter of discontent, the country rejected his ideals, resulting in a landslide victory at the polls for a reforming Conservative government.
Like Burgess, Maclean and Philby, we should regard Jones as little more than a traitor.
