CASTELL Roc returns in 2016 and will once again run for 10 evenings on the last two weekends of August inside the stunning grounds of Chepstow Castle.
The 2015 event brought headline acts to Chepstow Castle such as The Levellers, Blue and Bellowhead, as well as a whole host of top tribute acts. The 2016 event looks to be just as exciting.
The full line-up is yet to be confirmed, but details of five of the total of 10 nights have been released. This year’s event will run from Thursday 18th August to Monday 22nd August then Thursday 25th August to Monday 29th August.
The line up includes a vast array of talent including superstar Jools Holland and legendary Scottish twin brothers The Proclaimers.
Castell Roc will welcome Jools Holland on Saturday 27th August. From playing pubs in the East End docks as a teenage greaser, to leading his rhythm and blues orchestra and selling millions of records, this is a unique chance to see Jools perform in one of the most beautiful and intimate locations in the UK.
Legendary Scottish twin brothers The Proclaimers prepare to walk 500 miles at Chepstow Castle on Sunday 21st August. Castell Roc are proud to be a part of The Proclaimers 2016 Tour, which sees the band heading off to Australia, Europe, USA and Canada.
The Blues Band will headline on Friday 26th August, a band that are known throughout Europe as some of the best purveyors of rhythm and blues. Since their formation in 1979, The Blues Band have remained an inspirational force for more than two-and-half decades and 16 albums.
Organisers are thrilled to welcome back The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain on Sunday 28th August, returning after their popular performance in 2010 at the castle. Last year the band celebrated 30 years since their formation, and this year they will have been active for one billion seconds. Castell Roc are happy to be part of their Gigasecond tour.
Another act making a return for 2016, a firm favourite at Castell Roc, is The Bohemians. This tribute act to the late great Freddie Mercury will be providing a night of Queen on 25th August.
After some sold out performances in 2015, organisers have decided to cut down on audience figures, so the advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets are on sale now at Hannah’s Music Chepstow or online at www.castellroc.co.uk
