THE pupils of Osbaston Church in Wales School learnt the importance of water last week as they raised money for the charity Water Aid.

The entire school lined up, and passed water from one end to the other using containers held by each pupil.

The exercise was done to show the importance of water to people in the developing world and how difficult it can be for them to access and transport water.

In addition to the activity the children also brought along spare change to donate which was also placed in a line.

The line of coins, place end on end, reach almost as far as the line of students.

In total £296.87 was raised.

All of this was part of the Year 4 pupil’s decision to choose Water Aid as their charity for the year.

As well as getting the whole school involved they also held a tea and coffee afternoon for the parents in the junior hall.

The pupils brought in cakes to sell to raise more money and put on a presentation for the parents about Water Aid.

Water Aid works in 34 countries across the world and aims to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030.
