Gwent Police confirmed tonight that inquiries into the death of a popular Monmouth landlady are continuing but they are not treating the death as suspicious.
Judith Ramsden of the Gate House public house was found unresponsive at 4am on the morning of 9th February and paramedics confirmed she was deceased at 4.25am.
In a statement released to the Beacon Wednesday night, 13th February, they said: “Following a post mortem, Gwent Police can confirm that they are not treating this death as suspicious but continue to undertake enquiries in consultation with the Coroner's Office.”
Tributes have been paid this week to the popular landlady and the family have said that they have been devastated by her death.
They said: "Her passing was sudden and completely unexpected" but they took the courageous decision to re-open the pub as it was "within these walls that we feel closest to her".
