Coleg Gwent's Usk Campus has recently set up a women's football team in response to the growing demand for the sport.

 The team has been set up by Usk Campus sports lecturer Leon Annett, and is proving to be very popular on campus with at least 20 students attending practice sessions each week.

 Speaking about the team, Leon said: "We are delighted to offer more students the chance to play football.  The team is open to all courses and abilities across the campus.

 Despite suffering two recent defeats, the team are improving in skills and confidence.  We are currently entered in the British colleges for the sport cup, and eventually hope to play league football in the coming year."
