SIR, The recent front page article on the new pool looked very upbeat. It is unfortunately meaningless. Monmouthshire County Council have not told us; 1. Whether the feasibility report has been undertaken and accepted, especially as the proposed pool is on a flood plain. 2. Whether detailed planning permission has been applied for, and passed. 3. What funds are promised and how much is still to be found. a. Has the Welsh Assembly offered any money? b. Whether MCC has voted for funds from the contingency fund, and how much. 4. When building will start, and when the pool will open to the public and schools. I have written to MCC and hope to hear from them. Dr Charlotte Jones (Monmouth)
