Voters in St Kingsmark ward re-elected a Welsh Labour candidate Amy Thompson-Lancaster following the resignation of the Welsh Labour councillor, Elizabeth Atkinson.

Voters went to the polls for the Chepstow seat on December the 7th.

Miss Thompson-Lancaster polled 214 votes, whilst Welsh Conservative candidate Keith Eric James Allen polled 182.

Miss Thompson-Lancaster said, “I’m delighted that residents in St Kingsmark have put their trust in me. I look forward to working with them and the rest of the town council to make Chepstow greener, vibrant and a fantastic place to call home.”

Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Monmouthshire, Catherine Fookes said, “It has been great campaigning for Amy in St Kingsmark. I have enjoyed speaking with and listening to residents here and I’m so pleased they have put their trust in her. Amy will make a fantastic councillor; she’s young, dynamic and has a real passion for helping others.”
