Ross Juniors held their 3rd Six a Side Football Tournament at the weekend. Despite the awful weather conditions over 50 teams took part in the event. In total there were an estimated 750 attending during the day. Chairman Jim Loftus said 'Again it was a well- managed tournament, with some fantastic football. As with all events a big thank you must go to the small band of volunteers who give up their time, without these people we could not manage.' Ross Juniors would also like to thank the Rowing Club for the use of their facilities and equipment and also Shaun Preece of The Mighty 8 for sponsoring the trophies. Many of the Ross Juniors teams had success. Pride of place went to the Under 12s who won their age group. Runners up in their respective age group were the Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 12s. Under 8s For the newly formed Ross Junior Colts this was their first tournament after just three training sessions but they played well in their four games - losing three, and drawing one. The players were Jonathan Cross, Oliver Wareing, Patrick Virgo, Matthew Darwin, Luke Rawlings, Alex Dawson, Owen John, Samuel Eright and Chadd Evans.
