The bunting was out in full force across Monmouth over the four day special celebrations as people of all ages joined in the party to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and her amazing 70 year reign on the throne.

While some of us watched special TV programmes marking the last seven decades, here in Monmouth people took to the parks and streets to enjoy their own special celebrations.

And while the sun shone for most of the four day partying the weather failed to dampen anyone’s spirits as young and old dressed up in their crowns and waved Union Jack flags.

Readers were happy to share their photographs which we’ve featured along with those taken by our staff and spread throughout this week’s edition.

The Beacon’s Des Pugh visited Hendre Close Playground, Rockfield where everyone had a lovely day celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the event also raised approximately £500 for charity
