AN INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed harpist will be giving an intimate concert in Rogiet.

Following straight on from a concert tour of Canada and the United States, Celtic harpist Delyth Jenkins will be visiting in May 2014.

In what is expected to be a 'sell out' event, Delyth will be giving an intimate concert in the very special surroundings of the 13th Century St Michael and All Angels Church at Llanfihangel, Rogiet.

The concert, which will include traditional and contemporary pieces takes place on Sunday 18th May at 2.30pm.

Local organiser Richard Jones, from the Caldicot Local History Society, said: "We were so pleased when Delyth agreed to come along. The amazing acoustics of this wonderful church will be a perfect setting for such a beautiful instrument as the harp".

St Michael's Church closed for regular worship over 40 years ago, but has been fully restored for visitors and local community use. It thrives as a local history centre with regular events including concerts and talks taking place throughout the year.

Tickets for Delyth Jenkins in concert, are priced at £7.50 per person.
