SIR,

Monmouthshire County Council are currently in the process of producing an action plan for the town of Monmouth called Vision Monmouth.

One of my suggestions for improving the town is to put a new crossing from Troy Station over to Lidl's.

This should have been done when the new dual carriageway plans were changed as it was not planned to be where it is now.

Also, an entrance should be put the other side of the tunnels on to the dual carriageway where the salt depot is.

We have this road cutting our sports field in half but no way to get on to it, only by going to the next village. These changes would take the pressure off the Wye Bridge and, with a slight alteration, could make the junction much safer.

Slip lanes should be constructed on and off the south bound carriageway at the end of the Wye Bridge. This needs to be done urgently before any more lives are lost.
