How is it that Monmouthshire Leisure are contemplating  introducing swimming charges for some Welsh residents who are over 60?

Residents of Wales who are over 60 should continue to be entitled to free swimming. It’s all the non-Welsh residents over 60 who should have this entitlement removed.

For years, Monmouthshire Leisure have given free swimming to anybody over 60, no matter where they happen to reside.

This practice should never have been introduced and allowed to continue throughout a decade of austerity.

I find it immoral that this has continued unabated; and that now, a small handful of residents of Wales, over 60, are possibly going to pay the price.

Penalising those who fund the resource and thinking of ending their daily efforts to keep fit is surely very short sighted.

It will be the Welsh Health Service that pay the final price. Does this make any sense?
