VISITORS had the chance to meet soldiers of the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers Napoleonic Re-enactment Society at The Kymin last weekend.

Hosted by the National Trust, there was a range of activities including drill, musketry and battlefield surgery demonstrations. Visitors were able to walk around their camp, talking to the soldiers about camp life, musketry and battlefield tactics.

Martin Kerrigan, deputy manager at The Kymin, said: “Once again the National Trust at The Kymin were delighted to host the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers Re-enactment Society’s annual camp.

“The Kymin Naval Monument is very much connected to the Napoleonic Wars and, as always, this is a wonderful way of helping to bring the history of the period to life.”
