Community members gathered at Monmouth Castle on Thursday March 12 to celebrate local achievements at the High Sheriff Awards Ceremony.

The evening commenced at 6.30pm where attendees arrived, socialised and were enlightened with music from pupils of Haberdashers’ Monmouth School. Followed by the presentation of badges to Heddlu Gwent Police cadets and the presentation of the awards.

The awards were presented by the High Sheriff of Gwent, Ralph Griffin and were given to: Keith Davies, who was unable to attend so was collected by Barbara Davies, Group Award, given to Art in Penallt and chair, Caroline Peters MBE, Deqa Ahmed, Club Manager at KidCare4U in Newport, Group Award to Monmouth Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council, Suzy Mills for Monmouth Aid and Clair Beard from The Robin Hood.
