The end of school term is made all the more fun by a school fete, and the Overmonnow Parent and Teachers Assocation (PTFA) summer fete was a huge success raising a fantastic £1,050 for Overmonnow Primary School on Friday 11th July. The weather was hot and parents, friends, children, teachers and the wider community enjoyed a fun afternoon of traditional fete games and refreshments including barbecue hotdogs and strawberries and cream. They also had a fun mocktail stall selling fruit juice cocktails which went down a storm with the children on such a hot day. The school's fete has huge support from local and regional business. The PTFA would like to say thank you to the following businesses for their support: Mon Teas, Monmouth Caravan Park who donated the BBQ, Hancocks of Monmouth, The Parsons Nose, Millbrook Garden Centre, Le Gourmet, Flowers by Victoria, Munday & Jones, Eighteen, The Potting Shed, Windmill Hill Fruit Farm (A J Snell and Son), Iceland, M&S Simply Food, Waitrose, Budgens, Car Care, South Herefordshire Golf Club, Gwent Wildlife Trust, M&M Icecream, Co-op and Tri-Wall Limited. The money raised this academic year will be allocated in September after the AGM, helping to enhance the pupils education and learning and will help to provide extras that is often not covered by the main schools budget. It often goes to the more fun things that make learning more enjoyable.
