More than £439,000 in Section 106 funding has been awarded to community groups in Monmouth. Cabinet members of Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) met last Wednesday (4th June) to rubberstamp the funding. Money allocated to the groups will be used for a new skate park and pump track in Monmouth, a new play area in Osbaston and an all weather outdoor area for the Wyesham Scouts. The following received funding: Monmouth Pentanque Club for the floodlighting of Petanque Terrain, Monmouth Off Street Project for a new skatepark and pump track, Wyesham Scouts for an all weather outdoor area/disabled facilities, Monmouth Town Council for a new play area in Osbaston and Drybridge nature park improvements, MCC for the Gateway Monmouth Project and a new destination play area for Monmouth, Wyesham Play Project for a new play area at Tudor Road, Wyesham, Monmouth Cricket Club for new cricket practice nets, Monmouth Rugby Club for pitch works and floodlighting, Transition Monmouth for Wyesham community woodland.
