OVERMONNOW Family Learning Centre, part of Monmouthshire Community Learning, hosted an Easter gardening event on Thursday 26th March.

Held in conjunction with the Grow Wild project, local families donned their wellies and got stuck in, helping to dig and plant lots of British wild flowers, seeds and plants in the centre's community garden. This will help create a pretty and relaxing environment as well as attracting local wildlife.

After working up a sweat working in the garden, everyone enjoyed refreshments and the children were rewarded with an Easter egg hunt and face painting.

Everyone had a great time and Monmouth Community Learning hopes to run more events through the summer, including a gardening and cookery class in the near future to demonstrate growing and cooking healthy produce from the garden.
