On a blustery but dry morning, over 40 local golfers gathered at the picturesque Monmouth Golf Club to contest 'The Paul Jenkins Memorial Trophy'.
Paul, or 'Jenko' as he was widely known throughout the town, was a former captain of the Monmouth Artisans Golf Society and his popularity was confirmed by the sheer number of friends travelling to play.
Playing partners were drawn from lots, and with the course in superb condition the scoring was very good with quite a number playing better than handicap.
With things extremely tight at the top of the leader board the presentation, made by Bill Walby (M.A.G.S. president) and Wayne Wadley (MGC Captain) was eagerly awaited.
In third place was Steve Ford, second Malcolm Jones and the winner, on count back, Ade Morgan. A fitting winner as Ade was a close friend and playing partner of Jenko's.
Ade Morgan, the proud and emotional winner, is pictured after receiving the trophy.
Players are reminded the Christmas Bash will once again take place at Monmouth Golf Club on December 12th.
