GHOULS and boys from Sudbrook CC’s Junior FC held a Hallowe’en Scooting The Bridge fundraising event on Saturday.

The youngsters and event organisers dressed for the occasion and one young lad was particularly happy after winning a prize donated by Dewstow Gardens for raising the most sponsorship.

Deron Bridge raised £240 and organisers are hoping the final figure raised by the event will be close to £1,000, which will be used to buy equipment for the club.

The youngsters set off from Aust and scooted their way to Chepstow in what one organiser described as ‘a day to remember’.

“We had a fantastic response and effort with all the kids thoroughly enjoying themselves in the autumn sunshine,” said Craig Carter who is one of the Girls team coaches.

“Thanks go to Dewstow Gardens & Grottos for their generous donation of a Family Pass and to the parents and volunteers who really made it a day to remember.

“We don’t know what the final figure will be but it will help us buy some new goals, footballs and maybe a storage unit.”
